We're all eagerly awaiting Louis Greenberg's new collection, Home Away, which will be launched on 15 April at Cape Town's The Book Lounge. The book includes 24 commissioned pieces by South African writers, each set in a different global city at a different time of day. My piece is a brief meditation on Chan Chan, the ancient ruined Peruvian city. Home Away features a foreword by Vikas Swarup, and a beautiful cover and page design.

"This unique and captivating collection is a snapshot of South African writing today: emigrant and immigrant South Africans, living at home and away."

10 years of CaineWork in ProgressTen Years of the Caine Prize for African Writing, published by New Internationalist, includes all ten of the winning stories since the prize's inception (including my story 'Poison' and Mary Watson's 'Jungfrau'), as well as stories by three African winners of the Booker: Ben Okri, Nadine Gordimer and JM Coetzee.

In a related publication, the Caine Prize annual short story collection for 2009, Work in Progress and other stories, has also been brought out by New Internationalist and Jacana. The collection features the 2009 prizewinner EC Osondu, as well as the shortlisted stories. Also included are stories written by myself ('Work in Progress') and 10 other writers during the 2009 Caine Prize workshop in Ghana.

For those interested, I've put my story from the collection, also entitled 'Work in Progress', online here.

"Porcelain", a story of mine that was first published in the Oshun anthology 180 degrees in 2005, has found a second life in this new collection of international writing.

23 writers from 14 countries contributed stories to One World: A Global Anthology of Short Stories, published by New Internationalist.

I'm delighted to be appearing alongside well-known writers like Jhumpa Lahiri, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Petina Gappah and Lauri Kuibitsile.

Royalties will be donated to Medecins Sans Frontieres.
